Money matters adviser
Our money matters adviser will give you information, advice and help with claiming benefits, reducing household costs, opening bank accounts and helping with debt problems. We want to make sure you are receiving the maximum income you’re entitled to, to enable you to pay your rent and keep the roof over your head secure.
We can provide advice on other benefits to give you peace of mind and help you be in control of your money.
The money matters adviser is Pat Bransome who has 20 years’ benefits experience, 7 of those at MHA. Pat is thrilled to be able to help you with a range of financial advice.
Andrew Limb of Osmington is one of the many tenants who has already benefited from Pat’s experience:
“The money matters adviser is a brilliant idea. People have all this information and, to be honest with you, a lot can’t fully understand it.”
Andrew first came to Pat’s attention when his rent account went into arrears. Pat visited and discovered his work hours had been reduced and he was waiting for an updated working tax credit and his housing benefit to be reassessed.
Andrew has dyslexia, which makes reading and writing difficult for him, and he cares for his children. On top of this he’d had an accident that had hospitalised him for weeks. After fully assessing his situation Pat was able to help Andrew with a number of financial solutions.
Andrew’s advice for anyone who finds themselves not knowing which way to turn is to ask for help:
“At first it was scary, but I needed help and Pat was my knight in shining armour!”
