Mortgage Rescue - Home Ownership Advice
Struggling to keep up your payments on your mortgage or rent on your property?
Do not bury your head in the sand - The earlier you get help, the more options you'll have to avoid losing your home.
There are lots of organisations that can help you if you are experiencing financial difficulties. Here are a few essential tips to help avoid your home being repossessed.
Speak to your Landlord as soon as you experience problems paying your rent or service charges. You can contact us by calling our Money Matters Adviser on 01305 216067.
Speak to your mortgage lender as soon as you think you have a problem making your mortgage repayments. If it is required, your mortgage lender may be able to arrange a payment agreement with you.
Speak to an independent adviser immediately if you can't reach a repayment agreement with your lender or can't pay at all. The citizens advice will be able to give you free and impartial advice. They have information available on their website http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk or you can see your Magna Housing Association handbook for your local citizen advice contact details.
There are mortgage rescue schemes available that may also be able to help you. More information can be found on the government website http://mortgagehelp.direct.gov.uk/ If you are considering releasing equity in your home, always take legal advice from a solicitor before signing any documents.
**Please note that some independent financial advisors will charge you for their advice. Make sure you ask the adviser if there is a fee before agreeing to an appointment. Please be aware that some telephone numbers may also be premium rate telephone numbers**
