Home owner participation & consultation
Participation
We are committed to leaseholder involvement and participation. We do this in a number of ways, including:
- Community representatives contact details can be found in Opendoor.
- Residents’ associations: We recognise that residents’ associations are an important way of involving and consulting with leaseholders in the management of their homes. We will help residents to promote, set up and run such associations.
- Home owners' working group: this group meets four times a year. Meeting details are set out below.
- Community Connections: our strategic group of residents.
Consultation
We will consult with leaseholders about:
-
any policies which have a direct impact on them
-
services provided or proposed changes to services provided
-
major maintenance and improvement works that we plan to undertake. These works include such things as new roofs, double glazing and external redecoration. The method of consultation will depend on the number of leaseholders affected.
Consultation methods include:
• Home owner working group:
• Meetings, for example to discuss proposals for major works to blocks of flats
• Home visits
• Surveys
• Questionnaires
• Focus groups
• Tenants’ conferences and seminars
• Opendoor
• Leaseholders’ newsletters
• Written material, for example to comply with the consultation requirements set out in the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
We will review the results of consultation exercises and feed back the results.
