Resident involvement service standards
Information
To ensure that residents have access to information about resident involvement, we will:
Ensure we send you four Opendoor magazines a year
Update our website every month
Share information with you in a variety of ways, letters, newsletters, notice boards, email, and website
Publicise the dates and venues of meetings 3 months in advance
Talking to each other
To help shape the service we offer we will:
Develop a range of ways to be involved so that you can chose how you do this
Help you to be involved in issues that interest you
Make it clear to you why working groups and meetings are set up and how they will be managed. This will include constitution and code of conduct where they are needed
Ensure you have the same opportunity as everyone else if you want to take part
Talk to under-represented and vulnerable groups
Tell you what change you have made to the services we offer you
Support and training
To help you help us, we will:
Provide resources that allow formally constituted groups to perform their basic functions. This could be help with producing newsletters, holding open meetings, and holding an AGM)
Help you by paying your reasonable out of pocket expenses when you help us. This could be travel expenses or childcare
Provide or find the right help or training to help you if you want to be involved in policy or practice and to help you understand what we have to do
Provide help to ensure that you and other people can identify and deliver their own hopes for involvement. This could be through the development of community based projects or developing new skills
We will monitor these standards by:
Reviewing the resident involvement strategy, policy, menu of ways to be involved and our service standards every year
Working with residents to develop and produce an involvement statement every year
Telling you what difference all this has made to the service we offer you by producing an impact statement of resident involvement activities every year. This will include feedback from residents and staff
