Snow joke at Magna

3/5/2009

It’s snow much fun!

It was all hands to the pump in Magna’s call centre when snow prevented the usual staff from getting in to answer the phones.

A plea went out around the organisation for staff to come to the call centre to answer the phones. A group of trades operatives, who were unable to get out on the road to carry out repairs, took up the challenge and donned the telephone headsets.

John Palmer, who organised the emergency team, said, “It was amazing how they all just stepped in and answered the phones. One of our Company Behaviours is ‘We are Committed to our Customers’. The trades operatives really took this to heart and jumped at the chance to keep the service running.”

Paul Fairhead, who was one of the operatives who took the calls, said, “It was actually quite good fun, it made a nice change to see things from the other side of the fence. Usually we are responding to calls for repairs and it was great to talk to some of our residents directly to book the jobs in.”
