But occasionally something might need repairing such as dripping tap or a faulty window lock. In extreme cases the central heating might be playing up or a fence may have blown down.
However big or small, reporting a repair has just got a whole lot easier for Magna’s residents.
MHA is offering a service through its website www.magnaha.org.uk
Residents can now log on and report their repairs online using an easy-to-follow form.
At the click of a button, the information is sent direct to MHA’s repairs department, where staff will immediately spring into action.
Repairs centre manager, Tracey Clark, explained: “This is a fantastic new facility that we are offering through our website. We are well aware that people have busy lives and this is one way of making things easier.
“If a tenant has a repair that needs carrying out, all they have to do is log on and fill in the form which asks for all the information needed about the job that needs doing.
“From there, we will make arrangements for one of our maintenance teams to visit the property at the resident’s earliest convenience.”
Aside from the new website service, repairs can be reported to MHA in a variety of other ways.
These include by e-mail to repairs@magna.org.uk or by writing to the Building Services Department, Magna Housing Association Ltd, Naden House, Railway Triangle Industrial Estate, Poundbury Road, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 2PJ. If the repair needs emergency attention the freephone line on 0800 358 6025 is manned 24 hrs a day.
