July 2010: Inspectors confirm completion of the inspection action plan
Our regulator, the Tenant Services Authority (TSA), have confirmed that we have now completed our inspection action plan.
The action plan was a result of a Short Notice Inspection undertaken by the Audit Commission in January 2009.
The action plan had over 55 actions which all resulted in improvements to the services that we provide you.
David Aldwinckle, MHA Director, said:
"Its great that the inspection action plan has now been signed off. Delivering some of the actions were a real challenge but its great to see the improvements that have been delivered as a result.
"It doesn't mean that work to improve our services will now stop. We will continue to work with you to identify your priorities and do our best to deliver them.
"The current work we are undertaking under the new regulatory framework will see ever closer working between us as a landlord and you our customers. We have already developed and improved our resident involvement options with the introduction of Community Connections, mystery shopping by residents and the newly formed Community initiative Fund forum."

April 2010: Inspectors review visit says nearly all of the inspection recommendations have been implemented.
Our regulator, the Tenant Services Authority (TSA), decides which housing organisations are inspected. The Audit Commission (AC) then undertakes inspections on behalf of the TSA. We were inspected by the AC last spring and subsequently wrote an action plan to address their findings.
David Aldwinckle, MHA Director, said:
“We have been working hard on our action plan all year and had visits from the TSA in December and March to check progress.
“We've now had feedback from their latest visit in March. In December they were satisfied that the majority of the actions had been completed. Following their visit in March they were satisfied that all but 2 recommendations were complete. Firstly they would like further evidence on how we are developing value for money targets for teams and managers and secondly they would like evidence that we have developed a sustainability policy. We will provide them with this evidence in the next few months and then all of the recommendations will have been completed. I’d like to thank everyone for working so hard to make sure we achieved everything.
The amount of work that has been undertaken in the past year cannot be underestimated. All of the actions have a direct impact on service delivery for our residents, for example the introduction of service standards across all of MHA, a new user-friendly website with interactive services, publishing a five year planned maintenance programme and supporting and involving residents in the design and delivery of services.
In their feedback, the inspectors said that from the information provided, and from meeting with members of staff, assurance had been given on the continued progress made in a number of areas.
The inspectors will continue to monitor our progress until all of the recommendations have been implemented but they do not feel that another visit will be required they have also thanked staff for being open, enthusiastic and helpful.
